Some considerations about the artificial synthetic grass turf & sod installation. The drainage mesh has a thickness of 4-5mm which separates the soil from the artificial grass on your terrace.

This separation helps water flow more easily to the drainage point under the synthetic turf when it rains.

At the same time, this separation serves as a suction cup to allow air to pass through and prevent the pipe from becoming blocked by the carpet.

How to fix the lawn to prevent it from blowing over in the wind?

There are several methods to fix the artificial turf when it comes to install it on a hard surface such as a tiled attic or terrace and the like.

These methods are detailed in other of our posts available on this blog.

However, we anticipate that new fastening methods are emerging with solutions inherited from other related sectors of the industry.

These are the bitumen jointing strips, there are special one-sided strips for joining the grass strips and other two-sided strips for fixing the floor.

This solution is intended for installations where at least one side is not protected by a wall. If it is an attic, usually the lawn is placed from wall to wall and this leaves no space for the wind to blow the lawn over.

Thank you for your question Alma, there is no special construction or preparation requirement for the installation of artificial grass on a terrace. The drainage mesh system that is placed between the artificial grass and the ground of the terrace will do the job of evacuating the water.
